The following time constraints will be used in administering the GED Test:
- 7:30 am Check in (doors will be closed at 8:00am)
- Instructions
- Writing—Part I-50 questions, Part II-essay, 2 hours
- Math—50 questions—1 hour, 30 minutes
- Lunch
- Science—50 questions—1 hour, 20 minutes
- Social Studies—50 questions—1 hour, 10 minutes
- Language Arts, Reading-40 questions—1 hour, 5 minutes

Application to take the GED exam must be made at least one week prior to the test date. Proof of a passing score on the Official Pretest, payment and valid KS ID are required at registration. Cash or checks made payable to Kansas City Kansas Community College are the only acceptable payment methods. An applicant must be a resident of Kansas and 18 years or older. An applicant 16 or 17 years old must have a disclaimer and an exemption.
The GED Test will be cancelled if there is not sufficient registration for a specific date. Candidates will be notified at least 3 days prior to the test. Scores will be mailed to you within 1 week from the date of the exam if the entire test is completed.
